Santorini (Perissa)

Santorini - Perissa beach
Santorini - Perissa beach

In the nearby shop we buy food for breakfast and lunch and drive to Perissa where we expect to find a nice beach. The beach is superb, with the black sand. There's almost no one on the beach. After the lunch we drive along the nearby beaches and then up to the Profitis Ilias Mountain. From 567 m high peak the view over Santorini is very nice. Unfortunately we can't go to the top because there is a radar military base there.

As we saw more or less everything there is to see on Santorini, we head back to Fira. We return the car to the agency. Fira is quite lively in the evening. Numerous shops are open. As the restaurant prices in Fira are astronomic we choose to eat in a fast-food. We have many "Vietnamese" cats walking all around us - one lacks a leg, another looks like she suffered a napalm strike... After the dinner we decide to go for a walk to Firostefani, a nearby settlement to which Fira is practically connected. A street leads from Fira to Firostefani over the edge of caldera.
